Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

Introduction

Omah Kreator Press is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and serves as a guide for authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers involved in the publication process.

All parties are expected to uphold academic integrity, transparency, fairness, and ethical responsibility throughout the publishing process.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to Omah Kreator Press must ensure that:

Originality and Plagiarism

  • Submitted manuscripts are original works.

  • Any use of another person's work, ideas, data, or words is appropriately cited.

  • Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to another publisher or publish substantially similar works without appropriate disclosure.

Authorship

Only individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions should be listed as authors. All listed authors must approve the final manuscript before submission.

Data Integrity

Authors should present research findings accurately and honestly without fabrication, falsification, manipulation, or inappropriate data selection.

Acknowledgement of Sources

All sources of information must be properly acknowledged. Funding sources and institutional support should also be disclosed where applicable.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation of their work.

Ethical Approval

Research involving human participants or animals must comply with applicable ethical standards and receive approval from the relevant ethics committee where required.

Corrections

Authors have an obligation to promptly notify the publisher if significant errors are discovered after publication and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions when necessary.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the publication process.

Editors shall:

  • Evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit.

  • Treat all submissions fairly without discrimination.

  • Preserve the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest.

  • Make publication decisions independently.

  • Ensure that ethical concerns are investigated appropriately.

  • Take reasonable steps to identify and prevent publication misconduct.

Editors may reject manuscripts that fail to meet ethical or scholarly standards.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Where expert review is conducted, reviewers are expected to:

  • Review manuscripts objectively and constructively.

  • Maintain confidentiality.

  • Complete reviews within the agreed timeframe.

  • Identify relevant published work not cited by the authors.

  • Report suspected plagiarism or unethical conduct.

  • Decline review assignments where conflicts of interest exist.

Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts based on scholarly quality, originality, methodology, clarity, and relevance.

4. Responsibilities of the Publisher

Omah Kreator Press is committed to:

  • Supporting editorial independence.

  • Maintaining transparent editorial procedures.

  • Preserving the scholarly record.

  • Publishing corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary.

  • Protecting intellectual property rights.

  • Promoting ethical publishing practices.

Commercial considerations shall never influence editorial decisions.

5. Publication Misconduct

Publication misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

6. Complaints and Appeals

Authors may submit complaints regarding editorial decisions or publication procedures.

Complaints should:

  • Clearly explain the issue.

  • Include supporting evidence where available.

  • Be submitted to the editorial office.

Editors will evaluate complaints objectively and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Corrections, Retractions, and Withdrawals

If significant errors or ethical violations are identified after publication, Omah Kreator Press may publish:

  • Errata

  • Corrigenda

  • Expressions of Concern

  • Retractions

Retractions will clearly state the reason for the action while preserving the integrity of the scholarly record.

8. Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Authors may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools only as writing assistance.

AI technologies:

  • cannot be listed as authors;

  • cannot take responsibility for published content;

  • must be disclosed when they make substantial contributions to manuscript preparation.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their manuscripts.

9. Copyright and Intellectual Property

Authors retain copyright unless otherwise specified in the publishing agreement.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials owned by third parties.

10. Transparency

Omah Kreator Press promotes transparency in:

  • Editorial decisions

  • Authorship

  • Funding disclosure

  • Conflict of interest disclosure

  • Licensing

  • Publication policies

11. Ethical Oversight

The publisher reserves the right to:

  • Request supporting documentation.
